What Can You Do When Stress Takes Over?
We all experience stress.
But sometimes it reaches a point where it feels as though it's taken control.
Your thoughts start racing.
Your body tightens up.
You might become frustrated, anxious, angry — or simply feel overwhelmed.
And often, our first reaction is to try and stop feeling stressed.
But that's not always the best place to start.
Instead, take a moment and ask yourself:
“What is happening to me right now?”
Notice your body.
Are your shoulders tight?
Has your breathing changed?
Is your heart beating faster?
Are your thoughts going around and around?
These are all part of what we call your Stress Signature — the warning signs that tell you your stress level is rising.
Once you recognise those signs, you can begin to do something about them.
One of the simplest tools we use at Stress-Less is Body Rocking.
Sit comfortably with your feet on the floor.
Let your body gently rock from side to side.
Don't force it.
Just a slow, comfortable rhythm.
And while you're rocking, simply notice your breathing and what is happening in your body.
You don't have to solve everything.
You don't even have to work out why you're stressed at that moment.
The first step is simply to interrupt that stress response and give yourself a little space.
Sometimes that small amount of space is enough to help you think more clearly.
Remember:
Stress isn't something you have to defeat.
It's something you can learn to recognise — and manage.
At Stress-Less, that's what we're here to help you do.
Notice it. Name it. Lower it.
